Police department says: don't call 911 because you ran out of toilet paper

Don’t forget that 9-1-1 is for true emergencies only. The Newport Police Department in Oregon put a notice on Facebook urging residents to stop making emergency calls due to a toilet paper shortage. They police wrote, “It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this. Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance.” The household essential is unavailable at many stores as people across the country stock up due to fears about the coronavirus outbreak.

Meanwhile a woman who stockpiled 18 rolls of toilet paper came home to find her kids had thrown them all in the bathtub.
