Are you ready for the Dr. Fauci Doughnut?

White House Coronavirus Task Force Holds Daily Briefing

Right now medical professionals are really on the front lines of the novel coronavirus pandemic, and they deserve a lot of praise—or even a doughnut with their face on it. Donuts Delite, a doughnut shop based in Rochester, New York, is selling doughnuts featuring the image of Dr. Anthony Fauci. Fauci is an immunologist and the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infections Diseases (NIAID). He recently entered the spotlight as he appears regularly alongside President Trump during the televised briefings of the COVID-19 pandemic. The doughnut is created by printing an image of Fauci onto thin, edible paper and placing it on top of a thick layer of buttercream frosting. A franchisee of Donut Delite said, “We’re watching the news like everyone else. [Fauci’s] on TV giving us the facts, you’ve got to respect that. We’re bipartisan, we stay neutral, but you’ve got to give credit where credit’s due. People are buying [the Fauci doughnut] like crazy.”
