Couple replaces wedding guests with cardboard cut-outs

Getting married in the time of a global pandemic isn’t exactly ideal. Dan Stuglik and Amy Simonson had invited 160 guests to their wedding, planned for Saturday (April 4th), but now guests won’t be able to attend due to social distancing concerns. The pair had been planning the ceremony for months, and say they don’t like the idea of Amy having to walk down the aisle with nobody in the church seats so instead they created cardboard cutouts in the shape of silhouettes. They worked with Menasha Packaging in Coloma, Michigan to create the cut-outs, some of which were even customized by gender. The business donated all of the cut-outs to the couple. After their ceremony the couple says they’ll be substituting their reception for a home-cooked meal.
