The owner of Tybee Island's Sand Bar finds a way to pay her staff

Sandbar

Over the years you may have visited The Sand Bar on Tybee Island. And you may have noticed something unusual on the walls and ceilngs. Money.

Customers at The Sand Bar have been stapling dollar bills on the walls and ceilings for years. But now that we are sheltering at home and the business has stopped, the bar's owner Jennifer Knox did a very cool thing. She has had trouble payhing her staff in these hard times.

So, she recently decided to take down the dollar bills one by one and give the cash to the employees. It took three-and-a-half-days to remove all the money. In the long run that amounted to just over $4000. That includes money some customers later donated extra money for the cause.

Bartenders and musicians who work at the sand bar ended up receiving about $600 each.

Kudos Jennifer!
