A British doctor forced to miss his daughter’s first birthday due to the coronavirus pandemic was "blown away" when his colleagues threw him a surprise party at his hospital. Dr. Rory Nolan has been apart from his wife Catriona and daughter Francesca for more than two months after they both went to stay with his in-laws. During that time, he's been battling the pandemic in a Manchester hospital and realized a "couple of weeks ago" that things wouldn't improve enough for him to see his daughter on her first birthday. He and his wife made plans to have a birthday party over Skype, but he was left stunned when his colleagues surprised him with a cake, decorations and presents to mark the special day. Dominos donated lots of pizza and the doctor skyped his daughter's first birthday cake to her!
