Deaf mother creates a mask made for lip-reading

A deaf mother has been swamped with hundreds of orders from care homes after designing face masks with a plastic window over the mouth to allow lip reading. Justine Bate created the masks to help her and her 10-year-old daughter Teona communicate, since they are both deaf. The graphic designer was also worried Teona wouldn't be able to socialize with her friends back at school if she couldn't see their mouths to lip read. She began being inundated with orders after debuting the mask on Twitter.
