Town police urges: Please don’t try to take a selfie with a bear!

Some people really lack common sense. The Winslow Township Police Department in New Jersey took to Facebook Wednesday (June 10th) to alert residents of two bear sightings, and to warn them against attempting to take a photo with the animals. They wrote, in part, “Please do not, I repeat, DO NOT attempt to take selfies with the bear” along with other safety recommendations. They note that people should never feed or approach bears, and that families with homes in areas where black bears have been found in the past should have a “Bear Plan” that includes an escape route and planned use of whistles and air horns.

I'm amazed that they felt they needed to tell people not to take bear selfies. :)
