How scared would you have to be to stay in a tree for 18 days? Beverly McIntosh of Jonesboro, Arkansas, says her cat, Sparkles, climbed a 60-foot tree recently, and no amount of coaxing could get the cat to come down. McIntosh says she tried calling several organizations for help, but they told her the cat would come down on her own if food was left at the base of the tree. When weeks went by without Sparkles showing any intention of coming down, McIntosh eventually found a tree trimmer who was in town for a job, and the man agreed to climb up the tree to get the cat. Sparkles spent a total of 18 days in the tree, and McIntosh says the animal is recovering at home and will be an indoor cat for the time being.
