These specially trained dogs are working as lifeguards in Italy!

An elite squadron of 350 specially-trained dogs from the Italian School of Water Rescue Dogs (SICS) is patrolling beaches in Italy as lifeguards. The 300 SICS units, made up of one dog and one trainer, are watching over about 30 of the country’s busiest beaches. Thanks to their willingness to perform, strength, and fearless exploits, including leaping from helicopters into the water below, SICS estimates the dogs are saving an average of 20 to 30 lives annually, and the number continues to climb each year.
