At age 26, this could be the world's oldest living housecat.

If you think the cat you have at home is old, think again. A cat living in Oregon might soon have the Guinness World Record title after his owners discovered he is two years older than the current feline recognized as the world’s oldest living cat. Charly Briggs of Turney, Oregon, says Samm the cat is 26-years-old, while the current record holder is just 24-years-old. Briggs says the cat was a rescue that she adopted in 2002, and that she’s in the process of submitting the proper evidence to Guinness World Records to have Samm officially recognized.

Guinness lists the oldest cat ever as Creme Puff, a Texas feline who lived to 38 years, 3 days.
