Like me, Alligators don’t like the cold. The owner of a Pennsylvania reptile sanctuary rescued a 3-foot alligator spotted by fishermen in the frigid water of the Lehigh River at Kimmett’s Lock. Christina Obrecht, owner of Christina's Reptile and Animal Sanctuary, says she was able to grab the alligator by the head to get him out of the water, and transported him to the sanctuary in a duffle bag. She added that the gator didn’t put up much of a fight because it was exhausted from the cold. Obrecht says the gator was likely abandoned by its owner when it became too large to keep, and that the animal wouldn’t have survived for very long in the river due to the cold temperatures.
