KITTEN HIDING INSIDE THE RIM OF A DRIVER'S TIRE IS RESCUED

A kitten in Palatka, Florida, took refuge inside the rim of a car tire and got stuck. Police were flagged down by a driver looking for help in finding the source of a "weird noise" coming from their car. A Facebook post by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said, "When they looked under the car they found a small scaredy cat that was too petrified to come out." The sheriff's office said its fleet manager came to the scene and was able to remove the tire, allowing the kitten to be safely extracted. "Deputies brought the kitten to Animal Control where he has the nickname Trooper," the post said.

He will be put up for adoption shortly. Don't know if her experience will make it hard to get her into a car to visit the vet!

On Facebook, the department said:

Yesterday afternoon deputies and Palatka police officers were flagged down by a motorist on 16th and Olive in Palatka who heard a weird noise coming from the car. When they looked under the car they found a small scaredy cat that was too petrified to come out.

Our fleet manager came to the rescue and at a speed that could rival a NASCAR pit crew got the tire off safely and pulled the calico out.

Deputies brought the kitten to Animal Control where he has the nickname Trooper. Unsure if he likes car rides after that last trip
