Last month, two year old Kai, a K9 in the Atlanta area, was shot in the line of work. During the incident officers returned fire and shot a 17 year old.
Kai, who is a dual-purpose narcotics and patrol K9, was released today from a vet hospital in Buford and is headed home after being shot multiple times while responding with his handler to a domestic violence call.
Kai’s handler Cpl. Carlyle got emotional as he described his partner’s bravery and being a hero.
