Floridians warned to take their pets but this dog was found tied to a fence

As over 5½ million Floridians evacuated the western coast ahead of the storm, state leadership issued a stern warning about leaving pets behind. Unfortunately, one dog was found tied to a fence along I-75 in Tampa, abandoned as the storm approached.

… Thankfully, a Florida Highway Patrol trooper spotted the distressed animal and freed it from its binds. The heartwrenching video shared on social media showed the dog standing in rising water, almost chest-deep, as the trooper approached and comforted the frightened animal.
