The owner of Hempsted Pizza Man in Minnesota noticed that the homeless were eating food his restaurant was throwing out. So he decided to do something about it. He put out word that if you are hungry and need food, just ask. He posted “I don’t even know how to start this post but here goes,” wrote Chris Kolstad, owner of Heights Pizza Man. “Please do not eat out of our dumpster. Nobody deserves that.”
For those too embarrassed, he offered an alternative: leave a note, and they’d set aside extra food or small pizzas near the back door, away from view.
He's had lots of takers for the free pizzas, and his inside business with paying customers has increased too. Good deeds do pay, for everyone.
