New York City Transit conductor Ray McKie recently rescued a teenager who fainted and fell onto the tracks at a subway station in Queens. He signaled an approaching train to stop, pulled the teen to safety, and stayed with him until emergency medical services arrived. The teen has since recovered from the incident, which happened while McKie was returning early from a break. The conductor was recognized as an MTA Hero for his brave and swift actions.
