Ohio bride Shacole Fox found an unexpected father figure when her 79-year-old landlord Gil Pulliam offered to escort her down the aisle at her wedding. Fox, a makeup artist who rents studio space from Pulliam in Cincinnati, never knew her father and initially thought his absence wouldn’t affect her big day. However, as the wedding approached, she began feeling “a void” and found the thought “surprisingly painful.” Pulliam, aware of Fox’s family situation, stepped forward to ask if he could support her on her special day. And she said YES. Fox married Victor a couple months ago and described the moment Pulliam took her hand: “It was a really good feeling… Yeah, it still is. Like a wound had been healed in my heart.”
