Police Constable Tom Marsden and his K9 partner Yoiko were honored for their bravery after confronting a violent suspect in a burning, barricaded home in Hull, England.
During the encounter, the armed man attacked Marsden with a shovel before Yoiko intervened to protect his handler, allowing officers to subdue and arrest the suspect.
Last week, the pair received the Outstanding Bravery Award at the Thin Blue Paw ceremony for their courage and professionalism.
