21 year old Army Sergeant Stormy Fuller Smith who Served in the Middle East, is now back home in Pennsylvania.
While deployed, Stormy rescued a tiny puppy from a bunker and named her Jasmine.
After returning home, he was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer and began chemotherapy. As his treatment began, he worried about Jasmine’s safety overseas.
So, his family contacted Paws of War, a nonprofit that reunites soldiers with animals they saved.
The group rushed to bring Jasmine to the U.S. after learning about Smith’s illness.
Then….Jasmine arrived on Smith’s birthday.
Family, neighbors, a motorcycle escort, and a color guard welcomed her to her new home in the States.
Smith is scheduled for surgery this week, but now Jasmine is by his side.
Smith once saved Jasmine’s life. His mother believes Jasmine will now help him through recovery.
