An anonymous couple gifted the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society a $100,000 donation on Christmas Eve, delivering a major boost to animal care and community support programs in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
The contribution arrived unexpectedly during the shelter’s year‑end fundraising campaign and will help cover the average annual cost of medical treatment, sheltering, and essential services for dozens of animals. Shelter leaders say the funds will also strengthen initiatives aimed at keeping pets with their families whenever possible.
According to officials, the donors have a personal family connection to the shelter that spans more than two decades.
