Hope Mehlberg runs K9 Konvoy, a doggy day care in Oconto, Wisconsin, where she uses a pawprint-covered school bus to pick up dogs and bring them to a private three‑acre park on her family’s land.
She launched the business in 2021 after walking a neighbor’s dog with her own and went full‑time in 2023 after buying the bus and building the park.
Today she has 65 dogs on her roster and collects about two dozen each morning, sometimes driving up to two hours.
Mehlberg says the work feels like an adventure every day and that she genuinely loves starting her mornings by picking up the dogs.
