A six‑week‑old pit bull puppy is recovering after someone threw her from a moving vehicle near Portage, Michigan—a violent act that left her shivering in the snow until local resident Max Grodi spotted something fly from a passing car and stopped to investigate.
Grodi found the tiny pup freezing on the roadside, wrapped her in a jacket, and rushed her to safety, later naming her Medusa, or Moose. Severely dehydrated and underweight, the puppy is now improving, and Grodi says she likely wouldn’t have survived the night without intervention.
Just down the road sits the Charles and Lynn Zhang Animal Rescue Center, where officials stress that animals can always be surrendered safely instead of abandoned. Authorities are still searching for whoever is responsible for the cruelty.
