An Amazon delivery driver became an unexpected hero last Wednesday morning after rescuing a grandmother from her burning home. Neighbors noticed smoke just before 11:30 a.m., and the driver acted quickly when flames blocked the woman’s exit. He moved to the side of the house and pulled her out through a slider window. A dog and two cats were also saved.
The woman’s grandson, says he doesn’t know the driver’s name but is deeply grateful for the life‑saving action. According to the Fire Marshal, the fire began when ashes from a wood stove were placed on the porch to cool and later ignited.
Fire officials are using the incident to remind residents to dispose of ashes safely—placing them in a metal container, soaking them with water, and keeping them away from the home to prevent similar fires.
