How a Savannah woman is helping victims of spinal injuries and paralysis

Felicia Gibson used to work with us until one night when her boyfriend (now husband) was out walking the dog at 1am and saw some thugs breaking into cars. When he went to get the license plate number, they shot him and the result was he was paralyzed needing multiple surgeries and help.

Days after the shooting, they got married (that speaks volumes about her commitment to her hubby) and she has become an activist and supporter to help him and others who suffer from spinal cord injuries and paralysis.

Coming up starting September 25 is a fund raiser sponsored by the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to raise money to fund some of the most promising treatments for people living with paralysis. By making a donation, you will have an impact on the 5.4 million Americans living with paralysis. Every dollar raised will accelerate the progress of therapies and their delivery to people worldwide. While there is an actual event at Lake Mayer on the 25th, anyone can help in any way they choose and virtual events will continue into October.
