When a high school football player tells the coach he’s quitting that kid could get the cold shoulder from the coaching staff, perhaps even for the rest of his time at his high school. For one coach in California, his reaction to one of his players quitting was the opposite. Kurt Hines, the head coach of Coronado High School, sent out a video tweet saying that one of his players, who was noticeably unhappy on the football field, and had a hard time making it to practice on time, walked into his office and told him he would be quitting the team. Hines shares in the video that when he asked the player if he loved the game, he simply said “no.” Hines then told his player: “I’m proud of you. You’re doing the right thing, football is not for everyone. I couldn’t be happier.”
