Captain Ross Alex and his crew were fishing for lobster bait off the coast of Belfast when their nets captured something unexpected. a 600 pound tuna!
The tuna was too tangled up in the net and would have died by the time they untangled it, so they couldn't free it. And they weren't licensed to catch (and sell) it, but Jamie Steeves, owner of J&J Lobsters, contacted the Maine Marine Patrol to explain the situation. Steeve's contact made the necessary calls to get the boat's crew permission to harvest and donate the tuna to a Maine soup kitchen. They ended up donating that huge catch to the Belfast Soup Kitchen which yielded over 350 servings of food. Click this link and see more of this incredible story...
