Many communities are trying to draw remote workers, including Greensburg, Indiana. A spokesman for the city of around 11,000 people says they’ve teamed up with MakeMyMove “to attract high-wage, out-of-state remote workers to live in Greensburg.” The incentive package includes $5,000 to offset moving expenses, a YMCA membership, gift cards, and “Grandparents on Demand”. The MakeMyMove website explains that last perk: “Our friend Tami at the Decatur County Community Foundation and her husband (who also drives the school bus) happily offer babysitting hours and will stand in on Grandparents Day at school.” To qualify for the program, applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a remote position or be self-employed outside Greensburg, and relocate within the next 6–12 months.
