The Stow-Munroe Falls public library in Ohio has had a book returned that was 34 years overdue. The copy of The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle was anonymously put in the book return drop box. The library said the book had been due back on October 28th, 1987, and if the overdue fee were to be collected, it would now be $1,200. Library Director Gale Koritansky told local TV station WJW, "It's heartwarming that someone returned the book. Even though it's too old to go back into circulation, the fact that it was returned is appreciated. Better late than never."
