Did Andy Cohen overstay his welcome at CNN?

You may have heard about it. You may have seen it.

The annual New Year's Eve event on CNN teaming Bravo's Andy Cohen and CNN's Anderson Cooper went a little further this year than in the past.
Cohen always tries to encourage Cooper to have another drink just to get him drunk. Cooper isn't much of a drinker at all but the same cannot be said of Cohen.

This year he seemed to imbibe a little more than usual which on live TV can be an issue. During the telecast, Cohen who clearly was over his limit began rants about New York City ex-Mayor DeBlasio and then he took on Ryan Seacrest calling him a loser.

Reportedly some higher ups at CNN said they are “embarrassed” to work for the news network following Andy Cohen’s drunken New Year’s special - and are happy that he won’t be invited back again next year saying "Andy doesn’t even work for CNN and yet he has been the face of our network for the past 48 hours. It is embarrassing and real CNN staffers are very angry."

“Andy went too far. I think we can agree that it is CNN who look like losers,” adds another top CNN source. “Nothing has been made official yet, but internally we have been told that Andy will not be invited back next year. Embarrassing himself is one thing, but embarrassing Anderson Cooper is another. It was already known that Anderson doesn’t want to host next year’s special, he would rather ring the new year in with his son. And without Anderson, thankfully there will be no Andy Cohen.”
