WHEEL OF FORTUNE debuted on this day in 1975 on NBC as a daytime game show and later went on to have a nighttime version, but this was all before Pat and Vanna.
The original host was Chuck Woolery and his "Vanna" was Susan Stafford.
Wheel of Fortune was created by Merv Griffin, it is the longest-running syndicated game show in television history.
