BABY GIVEN TO U.S. TROOPS AT AFGHANISTAN AIRPORT HAS BEEN FOUND

The two-month-old baby handed over a wall at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, to a U.S. soldier by desperate parents during the chaotic U.S. evacuation from Afghanistan last August has been found. Sohail Ahmadi's parents, who are now resettled in Michigan, had handed over their son because they were afraid he'd be crushed, but when they made it inside the airport, they couldn't find him. It turns out a taxi driver named Hamid Safi found the baby in the airport after dropping off people. Safi says that after he gave up looking for the parents, he took the baby home to his wife and children to raise as his own. Safi's neighbors, however, noticed the sudden arrival of the baby and that it looked like the missing child. But Safi was reluctant to give up the baby, which led to the delay. Eventually, the Taliban brokered a deal to compensate Safi for looking after the baby, and he was reunited with his grandfather in Afghanistan. The grandfather said the next step is to now get Sohail to Michigan to reunite with his parents.
