Confused lost hawk is rescued from a New York subway station

An animal rescuer was called to a New York City subway station to capture a hawk that had flown inside and was unable to find its way out. A station agent at the Westchester Square-East Tremont Avenue subway station in the Bronx noticed the Cooper’s hawk appeared to be struggling to get out of the facility after apparently chasing a pigeon or smaller bird into the station. After the bird remained in the station for a few days, Paul Flores contacted the Audubon Society, who sent a worker to the station who was able to ensnare the bird in an 18-foot net. The bird was returned to the wild Thursday afternoon (February 10th).  WATCH THE STORY HERE:
