A 32-year-old U.S. House candidate in Oklahoma has apologized after she reportedly became intoxicated at a middle-school-aged girls sleepover, berated some of the kids, and threw up in a hamper. Attorney Abby Broyles, who's a Democrat, told local station KFOR that she had a bad reaction after drinking wine and taking sleep medication given to her by a friend, saying she "hallucinated" and didn't remember anything until she woke up vomiting into the hamper. Broyles said she was invited to the sleepover by a good friend who was the mother of one of the girls. Parents and at least one of the girls has claimed Broyles used profanity and berated several of the girls, commenting on one girl's acne and another's Hispanic ethnicity. She told the Associated Press yesterday (February 22nd) that she doesn’t believe she would have said those things, stating, "The things I’m accused to have said are not who I am. They’re not a reflection of my beliefs at all." She also charged there was a "politically backed" "media smear campaign" against her, and said she has no plans to drop out of the race
