Some people hit the lottery, and some people find a pearl in a clam they eat at a restaurant. Michael and Maria Spressler say they were having dinner at The Lobster House in Cape May, New Jersey recently, when Michael ate the last of his dozen clams on the half shell and felt something hard in his mouth. He pulled out a 0.35-inch pearl. The couple says they’ve been eating at the restaurant for 34 yeas and never heard of anyone finding a pearl in their clams there. The Spresslers say their research indicated the pearl could be worth thousands of dollars, but they’ve decided to keep it for themselves.
