Sometimes the rescuer needs rescuing. A 17-year-old boy scaled a tree at an Indiana park to rescue a cat he saw up in the branches on Saturday afternoon (March 5th). Rescuers say he climbed up 35 feet into the tree in Holliday Park before realizing he wouldn’t be able to make it down safely. The Indianapolis Fire Department says the boy’s “positioning did not allow the same ease for getting down,” and they used a rope system to lower the boy safely to the ground about two hours later. The teen was checked out by medics and released to his parents with just a few scrapes, but the cat remained in the tree. On Monday (March 7th) it was revealed the cat’s owner ended up hiring a private company to retrieve her pet.
