_ Jim Carrey has weighed in on the Oscar slap heard ‘round the world. While on CBS Mornings, host Gayle King asked him about what happened at the Oscars. Carrey said, “I was sickened [by the slap]. I was sickened by the standing ovation. I felt like Hollywood is spineless…”
… When Gayle brought up that Rock isn’t going to press charges, Carrey said, “He doesn’t want the hassle. I would have announced … that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video is going to be there forever … You do not have the right to walk up on stage and smack somebody in the face because they said words.”
… When Gayle tried to suggest that the situation had escalated to The Slap, Carrey shot back, correctly saying there had been no escalation.
