Get a look behind the scenes of the effort to restore and authenticate footage of global music superstar Prince at age 11, hidden inside archival film of the 1970 Minneapolis teachers strike. WCCO reporter Jeff Wagner and photojournalist Joe Berglove started investigating the mystery after production manager Matt Liddy noticed a student in the film that looked identical to the "Purple Rain" singer and actor. But the former reporter interviewing students did not ask for his name. That's why WCCO set off on a quest to confirm the student's true identity. Is it really Prince? Did WCCO find footage of Minnesota's most popular artist, before he became famous for songs like "Raspberry Beret," "When Doves Cry," "U Got the Look," "Little Red Corvette," and "Let's Go Crazy"? Wagner located local Prince historian Kristen Zschomler, whose reaction to the film footage stunned the WCCO crew. Zschomler helped connect the journalists with a Prince childhood friend and a former band member. When WCCO showed them the footage, their reactions were unforgettable!
