Remember the movie Jaws which was filmed 47 years ago in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts [though in the movie the town used the fictional name Amity]? In the movie, two boys played pranksters causing panic when swimming with a cardboard fin. One of those boys, Jonathan Searle has now been named the new police chief of Oak Bluffs . Searle is actually a real-life native of Martha’s Vineyard, and chose not to pursue a movie career despite his role in one of the most famous films of all time. Instead, the former child actor joined the PD in nearby Edgartown back in 1986. Love the irony!
