ELMO GETS COVID VACCINE IN A PSA FROM 'SESAME STREET,' CDC, PEDIATRICIANS

Sesame Street's adorable red muppet Elmo has gotten his Covid-19 vaccine, with a public service announement (PSA) from Sesame Workshop, the educational nonprofit behind Sesame Street, in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics, coming out one week after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the CDC authorized the Pfizer and Moderna shots for children under age 5. Elmo is supposed to be three-and-a-half years old. The video features Elmo's father, Louie, talking about questions he had about getting the vaccine for Elmo that he talked to their pediatrician about, who recommended the shot. Sesame Workshop's senior VP of U.S. social impact Jeanette Betancourt said in a statement, "Many parents understandably have questions about the Covid-19 vaccines for young children, and we want to encourage them to ask questions and seek out information. With help from Elmo and his dad Louie, we want to model real conversations, encourage parents’ questions, and help children know what to expect."  See the PSA below:
