: A 14-year-old Amur tiger at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has died of health complications after it contracted Covid-19. The zoo said yesterday (June 29th) that the tiger, named Jupiter, died on Sunday after developing pneumonia caused by the virus. Jupiter was more susceptible to Covid because he was undergoing long-term treatment for chronic underlying illnesses. The zoo said, "As a precautionary measure, we are requiring staff working with cats, great apes and mustelids (i.e., otters, wolverines) to wear masks when within six feet of these animals. "These animals are more susceptible to contracting Covid-19."
