A Georgia State University student says workers at an Atlanta Popeyes called the police on her after she tried to buy food for a man experiencing homelessness. Video of the whole ordeal has been seen by more than 5 million people on TikTok.
She approached the fast food store to make a purchase where she met a homeless man outside who said he was hungry. She went to the drive through to order food and when they found out it was for a homeless man they would not serve her. When she persisted they called police.
Officers arrived but since she broke no law they did nothing but praise her. The store manager was contacted who appeared confused as to why the purchase wasn't permitted and told her to order whatever she wanted for free. Here is the video:
