Just days ago, The Chatham County Sheriff's Department shared the news that CCSO Narcotics/Patrol K9 Mac was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer earlier this week. His handler, Sgt. Valdes took him home to spend these last days with their family. On Saturday they gathered to say goodbye and thank K9 Mac for his loyal and dedicated service in his final hours.
Before becoming a Deputy with the Chatham County Sheriff's Office/Chatham County Sheriff's K-9 Unit, K9 Mac served our country in the military. Please join us in recognizing CCSO K9 Mac for his honorable service in the U.S. Army an MPC multi-purpose canine for the 3rd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment on multiple deployments to Afghanistan. MPC Mac served our nation with distinction and honor. He will be greatly missed by the Ranges he served alongside.
