When was the last time you used — or even saw — a pay phone? A guy in Philadelphia is trying to bring back a bit of nostalgia — without the pay part. Mike Dank heard of a guy in Portland, Oregon, who put a pay phone on his lawn. Dank decided to do something similar. So he bought some old payphones, changed out the guts, and is putting them around Philadelphia. The first one will start making calls this weekend at a small bookstore. For now, Dank is footing the cost of the calls, but he’s hoping people will drop some donations in the phone’s coin slot.
