The Arizona Food Bank Network got a surprise in the form of a money donation, ahead of Taylor Swift’s show in Glendale last week.
Then on Wednesday (3-22), a food bank in Nevada, near her shows this weekend got the same surprise. They posted that because of Taylor’s donation, they would be able to provide thousands of meals to families and individuals struggling with hunger.
The nonprofit exec added that she was told in the conversation that Swift planned to focus on leaving a “positive impact” on each stop along her U.S. tour route, and on Wednesday (March 22), Three Square — a food bank based in southern Nevada — revealed the singer had also made a massive donation there ahead of her back-to-back shows in Las Vegas on March 24 and 25..
“Donations like this from very high-profile people like Taylor Swift help denote that hunger is still a problem in the U.S. It’s here and it’s a problem across the country,” he said. “The recognition of that is so important, and so is just setting an example of how to support organizations in the community that are doing everything they can to help fight hunger and help support people who might not know where their next meal is coming from.”
There was no mention of the dollar amount, but they did stress that it was “a generous donation.”
