Watch! The Mzansi Youth Choir's Emotional Tribute Brings Simon To Tears

The choir from South Africa was so inspired by Nightbirde's story, and her song "It's Ok" that they chose to cover it. The beautiful tribute left everyone emotional, and for the first time in AGT history the Golden Buzzer was awarded by the audience!

The performance capped off last night's show and left Simon Cowell in tears (and we know how rare that is!). But perhaps you don't know about Nightbirde.

Jane Kristen Marczewski (December 29, 1990 – February 19, 2022), known professionally as Nightbirde, was an American singer-songwriter.

Previously having released two EPs and several singles, Nightbirde auditioned on America's Got Talent in 2021, where she received a Golden Buzzer for her original song "It's OK". However, she decided to withdraw from AGT before the quarterfinals, because of worsening health due to cancer. Marczewski died on February 19, 2022, after keeping the battle with cancer a secret. She was 31 years old. Here is the performance from South Africa's Mzansi Youth Choir that was so emotional that it ended in the first-ever golden buzzer from the studio audience. Below is the audition that Nightbirde gave in 2021.
