Third-grade teacher Kimberly Coates was arrested after cops were notified of "a teacher acting weird and may be intoxicated." In a meeting with a police officer, the 53-year-old teacher agreed to a breathalyzer test.
Coates was taken out of the classroom to meet with a superintendent and a police officer. The superintendent suspected the teacher had been drinking at school. When asked what was in her blue cup, Coates reportedly claimed it was juice.
A police officer smelled her cup and said: "That there was wine. Want to try again?"
The test reportedly indicated her blood alcohol level was three times over the legal limit. They also found a cup that allegedly had alcohol in it inside her classroom. Coates was placed under arrest for public intoxication.
