Nat Read of Los Angeles likes trains. When looking at a map of all of Amtrak’s routes, Read realized he had ridden most of its 21,000 or so miles. He marked the ones he hadn’t been on and got to work. Last month the 84-year-old finished riding his last mile in Brunswick, Maine: there is nowhere else that Amtrak goes that he hasn’t traveled. After he finished his ride in Maine he took Amtrak trains back to Los Angeles.
