The actor failed to declare a watch he planned to auction for charity. According to reports, the Swiss wristwatch, valued at $21,000, was discovered in Schwarzenegger’s luggage, leading to his detention. The actor clarified that he intended to auction the watch for a charitable cause. Despite his explanation, authorities took him into custody, where he endured a prolonged detainment that left him frustrated.
… Authorities bombarded Schwarzenegger with inquiries about his family and financial situation. They plan to charge the actor with failure to register the watch, initiating criminal tax proceedings. However, it seems authorities neglected to ask him to complete any forms, and Schwarzenegger cooperated fully with the customs officers throughout the ordeal.
… Even though he went through an “incompetent shakedown” that could have easily been part of a humorous cop movie, Schwarzenegger remained composed and agreed to prepay the potential taxes on the watch. The customs officers made matters more comical by failing to operate the credit card machine for an hour until they gave up. Eventually, Schwarzenegger used a different credit card to withdraw the necessary amount, resolving the issue.

The initiative promises to properly report the funds raised, as all of Schwarzenegger’s nonprofits do.
