According to The Hollywood Reporter, some Saturday Night Live fans are expressing disapproval after Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley appeared on the show’s cold open over the weekend. At one point, host Ayo Edebiri asked the former governor of South Carolina, “I was just curious, what would you say was the main cause of the Civil War? And do you think it starts with an S and ends with a lavery?” Haley replied, “Yep, I probably should have said that the first time.” People took to X to criticize Haley’s appearance on the show. “Nikki Haley will only ever diss trump on a comedy show, and WTF is slavery denier doing on SNL anyway? Disgraceful, @nbcsnl,” one person wrote.
