In a heartwarming act of heroism, a Georgia school bus driver came to the rescue of an elementary student who was choking. Michael Green, who had been driving school buses for just a month, quickly sprang into action when a student alerted him to the emergency.
… In his rearview mirror, Green saw the girl standing in the aisle, clutching her throat. Without hesitation, he performed the Heimlich maneuver and successfully dislodged a piece of candy. Surprisingly, Green had never received any formal training in CPR or the Heimlich maneuver. However, he credits his actions to pure instinct.
… After saving the girl’s life, Green turned the bus around and returned to the elementary school to seek further assistance for the student until her family could be contacted.
